About Me
Hello and welcome to my Digital Portfolio for the Master in Science in Online Teaching and Instructional Design at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
My name is Patricia Williams. I am a the Program Coordinator of Biotechnology and Instructor of Biology at Cleveland Community College in Shelby, NC. My research interest include various areas of bacteriology and cancer biology. My husband (a chemist at Lenoir-Rhyne) and I currently work together on a joint research project where we look at detecting and identifying trace amounts of bacteria in the environment.
I live in Hickory, NC with my husband, Shaun, and our son, Noah. I love teaching, traveling, knitting, and advocating for animal and human rights. My husband and I are vegans and enjoy traveling around visiting vegan festivals. We are also volunteers at a local humane society where we help animals in a variety of ways.
I am originally from Johnson City, TN and I received my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from King University in Bristol, TN. I received my graduate degree in Microbiology and Biology from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN.
I decided to obtain my Master’s Degree in Online Teaching and Instructional Design after my institution started requested faculty to offer more online courses. I felt it important to gain information in the field of online instruction in hopes to better prepare online courses for my biology students. I have learned so much in the program and I am sure I will learn a lot more.
Please feel free to check out my portfolio. 😀
